Kindermusik in West Chester and Lionville

As a Maestro teacher, Kindermusik® International has recognized Joan Cloutman
for teaching an extensive children”s music program in the Chester County area. Joan has been teaching music to young children for 22 years, and Kindermusik in West Chester and Lionville for 19 years. This includes Kindermusik programs for children from birth to 7 years of age, and following Kindermusik for the Young Child (our program for 4-7 years olds) she introduces the elementary school age child of 7 to 9 years of age to the Keyboard through a group piano method developed by Musikgarten, entitled “Music Makers at the Keyboard”. This program is a three year program that teaches the child to learn to play, by ear, using the solfege technique of learning music intervals and the Gordon technique of rhythm notation.

Joan is assisted by a very competent teacher, Mindy Bowman. Mindy has been a licensed Kindermusik with our studio for 7 years, and has done extensive teaching at the Wilmington Music School both in children’s music and in private flute instruction.
