Kindermusik for the Young Child
4½ years to 7 years

Kindermusik for the Young Child is presented in two consecutive years. This program is designed to prepare the child for later instrumental lessons and teaches rhythm notation and note recognition as well as singing, movement and creativity in the context of the musical classroom.

Maria plays “Mouse, Mousie” on her glockenspiel in a “Kindermusik for the Young Child class.

Levels 1 (fall) and 2 (spring) are presented in the first year to children of 4 ½ to 5 ½ years. Levels 3 (fall) and 4 (spring) are presented in the second year of the program in classes held in the late afternoon to school aged children of 5 ½ to 6 ½ years. It is recommended that year one be taken before year 2, however, children that are of the appropriate age may join the second year of the program, without having previously taken year 1 (levels 1 and 2).
