STUDIO POLICIES

ILLNESS OR MISSED CLASSES, WEATHER POLICY:

  • If you are away or if you, or your child, is ill we encourage you to rest at home and make up your class at another time during the semester. You are welcome to come to another class of your child’s age group, or to the next older age group class.  The current class schedule is always posted on the home page so you can find which classes are available.
  • In the event of school closings due to weather, a maximum of two classes may be postponed and made up at the end of the current semester.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE – REFUND POLICY:

  • The total tuition cost is due at the time of registration. This fee includes a $10 registration fee, a $60 curriculum fee and the class tuition fee for the total number of weeks of your child’s class.
  • The $10 registration fee is a part of the total tuition and is not refundable.
  • The tuition, minus the registration fee, is refundable if you notify the director 15 days prior to the start of class.  The cost of the curriculum is refundable only if the curricula packet can be returned unopened and re-used by another client.
  • It is important to us that you, and your child, are pleased with your Kindermusik experience!  Please feel free to talk with your Kindermusik teacher if you have concerns about your child or the class itself.

SIBLING POLICY/ SIBLING DISCOUNTS:

  • Our older programs, "Young Child" and "Imagine That!" are independent for children and teacher together. During "sharing time" when the adult joins the child’s class, younger siblings are always welcome.
  • Sibling discount: When two children are enrolled in different programs, the younger child will receive a reduction in the total tuition cost of $30.
  • Materials discount: If you already have materials from an older child, the younger sibling may attend a class without including the cost of the curricula package. You may reduce the total tuition cost by $60. If you have already purchased the materials with an older child, you may order a sibling kit (instrument and home activity book) and reduce your cost by $25.
  • Younger child under 8 months of age i.e: born after Jan. 1 of the current year (fall programs) or after June 1 of the previous year (spring programs) may attend an “our Time” class with an older sibling at no additional cost.
  • Family Time vs. Our Time – for two young children, both between 9 months and 42 months, we recommend staying in the lower energy, "Our Time" class. If one child is over 3½ years, we recommend the higher energy "Family Time" class, or an "Imagine That! class as there will be a greater variety of activities to engage the older child.
  • Concurrent classes: We offer classes for older children (Imagine That! and Young Child) at the same time that we offer "Our Time" classes for younger children with a parent attending. Class times are staggered at the start to allow for the adult and younger sibling to re-join the older child’s class for sharing time in the final 10 minutes. Concurrent classes are offered on Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings when we have two teachers teaching on those days.

CLASS SIZE/CLASS VARIETY:

  • All Kindermusik classes are limited in size to 12 families. "Imagine That!" classes are limited to 9 children.
  • Kindermusik offers 6 different age groups of classes. Each class specifically focuses on the developmental aspects of the individual child.

1st Choice Accommodation:

If we cannot accommodate your first choice of class, as listed on your registration form, we will contact you ASAP. You will be notified regarding the start date, (time and day) of your class, and the balance of  your tuition cost two weeks prior to the start of class. We will honor your first class choice or contact you before making any changes. If you have a question about your class choice, or need to change your class before class begins, please contact Joan Cloutman, director, by phone at 610 436-9194, or by email at joan@kindermusikwestchester.com - see “contact us” tab above.

Our privacy policy:

Your personal information and email address is strictly private! We never sell or share customer information which, at registration, is sent to the director.

Leave food items and toys in the car:

Please refrain from bringing food or drink into the Kindermusik classroom and studio. If your participating child is over 18 months of age, we also request that toys or comfort items be left in the car. In a Kindermusik Village class, bottles are quite acceptable and appropriate. This is also appropriate for younger siblings who are under 18 months of age sitting in on an older child’s class.

Arrive at class about 5 minutes early to get settled:

Free play with rhythm instruments at the start of class allows your child to quietly get acclimated to the classroom with his, or her, accompanying adult before the other children arrive and class begins.
